Temping FAQ's
When do I get paid?
Jobwise run a weekly payroll, processing pay for the previous week's work.
Funds are available in your account by Friday, providing we have your correct
bank details and signed timesheet by 9am Monday.
What is the procedure for filling in a timesheet?
Complete your timesheet daily, record overtime*
separately and deduct time taken for lunch breaks.
Calculate total hours worked to the nearest quarter hour. Ensure your
timesheet is completed correctly including: week commencing date, your name,
the name of the company where you are working, total hours worked and the
client's signature.
IMPORTANT: Your timesheet must be signed by the company in order for you
to be paid.
* Overtime must be agreed in advance with
your consultant at Jobwise
What shall I wear for work?
For office wear, a smart suit or formal jacket with skirt or trousers is
appropriate (with tie for men). Your consultant will inform you of any
special requirements.
Who should I contact if I am unable to attend work?
Contact your consultant at Jobwise. Please give us as much notice as possible
and we will notify the company and where necessary arrange a replacement.
NB: every Jobwise branch has an answering machine so messages can be left when
the office is closed.
What if my temporary job becomes permanent?
Temporary bookings can often lead to permanent jobs; your consultant will
inform you of any permanent opportunities.
If you are approached directly by the company regarding permanent work,
please inform your consultant who will be able to assist you.
What are the rates of pay?
- An hourly pay rate is agreed with you for each new booking you undertake.
- Jobwise pay competitive rates, which are determined by the position
and skills required.
- Rates comply with National Minimum Wage regulations.
For details of the National Minimum Wage, read About Temping - Temporary
Workers Legislation.
What about overtime?

separately. Contact your consultant before agreeing to work overtime hours.
Your consultant will confirm the overtime rule for that company and provide
you with details of any overtime pay rates.
NB: Clients may refuse to pay overtime where additional hours have not been
agreed in advance.
