Excellent opportunity available for a Procurement Officer to be part of a local authority and join a small team of 3. Extremely varied and fast paced role with the chance to take responsibility for own workload. Close to local transport links the business is looking to hire straight away and offer a competitive salary of £26,500pa along with a flexible working pattern to achieve the 37.5 hours per week required.

Main purpose of job:

· To provide specialist procurement advice and guidance across the organisation and work collaboratively to unlock opportunities

· To manage and coordinate the undertaking of procurement projects and tenders supporting Business Managers in their requirements

· To promote a compliance culture that ensures continually improving performance and that legal and other standards are met

· To work along side the Procurement Manager and provide efficient and effective business support service to Senior Management and Business Managers

· To provide a comprehensive, cost effective, professional procurement service to TLC, and ensure that the Company maximises its purchasing power and achieves optimum value for money from its procurement activities

· To maintain and develop internal Procurement control, including spend reports

About The Role:

· Support the arrangement and management of a range of contracts for the supply of goods and services

· Responsible for all Procurement aspects of SAP ensuring systems are kept up to date with current products, prices and uploading of contracts

· To support and work with internal stakeholders for their procurement tenders and other procurement requirements

· To coordinate all tender processes from beginning to end

· Develop and update tender template documentation

· Assist in the development of Procurement Systems and Controls

· To lead on large scale projects, as required by the Procurement Manager

· To work with stakeholders to ensure procurement and supplier development activity supports wider value for money, social value and corporate responsibility strategies.

· To help develop a supportive customer-facing team atmosphere within the Procurement Team

· To deputise for the Procurement Manager as required

· To perform any other task as may reasonably be requested by the Procurement Manager or Finance Director

· To provide an effective and efficient purchasing service to all business units

· To monitor and manage the contract list ensuring target dates are met for the continuation of compliancy

Essential Skills & Experience

· 3 years previous experience within a procurement role would be ideal. Must have experience with producing tender documents and negotiation as well as the purchase order side

· SAP would be advantageous or similar systems e.g. ERP  

· Must have an excellent command of Word and Outlook as will be drafting tenders and managing own diary and workload

· Must have strong Excel skills as will be manipulating and searching within spreadsheets and applying formulas also will be performing VLookups and other searches within spreadsheets

· Looking for someone with a can do attitude who is able to work well in an extremely fast paced environment and can plan and manage own workload well

· Must be someone with high standards who is eager to learn but also able to work well within a small team of 3

· Someone down to earth who can take responsibility for tasks and work to deadlines would be ideal
