This very successful local company are looking to recruit a Software Developer / Technical Analyst to join their team, initially for 3 months but the role could become permanent for the right person. On a permanent basis, there would be a salary of up to £35,000 and excellent benefits that include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, free parking and a pension scheme.
About the role:
Working as part of a small team, you will be carrying out software development, system design, administration and maintenance as well as providing technical support to the company and their customers whilst working with 3rd party suppliers to deliver customer solutions. You will also be ensuring that all new software development is built, tested, deployed and integrated within the support model of the company. Duties will include:
Working closely with the Technical team, Sales, Clients and Suppliers to prepare program specifications to assist with the preparation of SOW to meet business requirements
Configuring existing product capabilities where appropriate and developing new software provided via 3rd parties to integrate and deliver well-structured and high quality software implementations
Developing bespoke software modules where required
Supporting clients running existing applications by use of a variety of support and configuration tools
Communicating with trainers, demonstrators and implementers regarding new software functionality
Offering input into future design and development of products to support creation and maintenance of a technical roadmap
Working as part of a team, Agile or individually on projects
Designing, coding and testing simple high-level items downwards, ensuring all UAT and testing policies are adhered to and signed off prior to deployment
Providing support to the Technical department with internal IT infrastructure
Providing support to sales with input to client demonstrations, client proposals and quotations
Contributing and providing input on progress to projects by way of reporting and escalate risks and issues in a timely manner.
Conducting investigations of technical issues, database management and operational problems, resolving and making proposals for improvement and implement where appropriate
Managing reporting and invoicing runs on a regular basis, investigating and resolving issues in line with processes
Providing support and assisting with documentation for DR and Back-ups in line with ISO 27001
Ensuring Change Control practices are implemented and documentation created and updated to ensure audit controls are in place
Skills and Experience required:
The ideal candidate will have previously worked in a customer facing environment with strong experience in software development along with experience in 1st, 2nd, 3rd line IT related support with 4th line support experience a definite preference. Experience in VB.net and SQL is essential as is experience in web, database and workflow technologies. Due to the changes within their IT infrastructure, project related experience is required.
Due to the need to occasionally travel to customer or supplier premises a full current driver’s license and own transport is essential. You will also require object orientated programming / output experience. You will have the ability to analyse requirements, convert to specifications and to produce high quality and detailed documentation. Experience of Planetpress and of print production would be beneficial.
Although this is a temporary role for 3 months, there is the possibility of permanent work for the right candidate which would pay between £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
