We are currently looking for a NIGHTS Transport Planner offering the salary of £25,000 for a respected and well known company based in Widnes, This is a temporary role to permanent role to start immediately. This will be working a day shift Monday to Sunday 10 hour night shifts working 47.5 hours a week.
Due to the location the successful candidate will have to have their own transport
About The Role:
The succesfull candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the transport Operation. This challenging role will incorporate the running of the transport system, to monitor the progress of drivers with a view of allocating the next jobs.
What will I be responsible for?
To monitor the Transport Operating System (TOPS), assessing the priority order of jobs for allocation.
Responsible for tracking vehicle location, via driver communications and system tools, assessing reload availability in order to assign next job.
To report void trips, re-directions, release and reference problems and other issues.
To identifying late running jobs, ensuring the progress of such jobs is monitored and reported via the QA system (and directly to customers, as appropriate) with updates issued as necessary.
Responsible for the audit trail of all late running jobs ensuring that the relevant QA exception reports have been issued, updated if necessary and supported by miscellaneous detailed notes as appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring jobs at destination for 3 hours or more are reported as a demurrage exception.
To sign-off all completed jobs through the computer system and updating the trailer tracker.
To complete computerised shunts for despatch to Container Control.
Required to complete delivery notes passing to drivers from the office
Any other duties or tasks as indicated by your immediate superior
Essential Skills & Experience
Ideally to have experience in the Transport Industry
Good working knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers hour’s regulations
Able to use effectively Microsoft Windows package (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Offering the salary of up to £28,00
Possibility of leading in to a permanent position
