So says our sexagenarian candidate consultant Sandra Voice.

Sandra, who recently hit the milestone, celebrated her birthday in style when her workmates decorated her desk with balloons and streamers.

The popular employee was also given flowers and a photo frame with a picture of her, as well as a birthday cake – complete with a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’.

Sandra, who described the day as ‘brilliant,’ has been working at Jobwise since June 1998, after originally turning up to register for temporary work.

She said: “I registered with Jobwise for work and they offered me a days work in the branch as a temp stuffing envelopes and 14 years later I am still here.”

So what makes it so special working at Jobwise?

“Jobwise is an established business and is well respected in the industry,” said Sandra.

“I enjoy the variety of the role and the fact that I get to meet lots of new people every week and the knowledge that placing someone in a new job can make a difference.

“In some ways I think I am a role model for more mature candidates who feel they are not employable and I take every opportunity to encourage them to embrace change and new technology.

“I work with a well established team in the Bolton branch and have regular contact with the other branches too. We all get on really well, the job can be very demanding and we all support each other, we work hard but never miss the chance to have fun!!

“We have regular on going training, such as in changes to legislation and last year we had a completely new database.

“I enjoy learning new skills and keeping up to date with modern technology such as LinkedIn and Facebook

“Jobwise invest in there staff and it shows.”

But away from the new technology, Sandra is also able to put her experience to use.

She said: “Because of my age and experience within this role, I can put people at ease, which can be helpful during the registration process.

“I have a wide breadth of knowledge of local employers and jobs along with a good understanding of skills that are required.

“This enables me to feel confident when matching candidates to current vacancies.

“Over the years I have built many long term relationships with candidates and clients.”

And what does the future hold?

“More of the same I hope!!

“New people, new skills, more challenges and lots more fun!”
