Currently recruiting for a Temporary Medical Receptionist (EMIS WEB) to work for a well established Medical Practice in Manchester. This is a regular temporary position paying an hourly rate of £9 per hour. The main responsibilities are to provide a point of contact for patients, act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, and other medical staff and carry out general and specific administrative tasks. EMIS WEB experience essential.
About The Role:
Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients, doctors and other visitors.
Ensure that patients without appointments but who need ‘urgent consultation’ are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Enter requests on the computer for Home Visits and the doctor is informed.
Print the necessary paperwork to accompany the notes for home visits.
Obtain all of the necessary documentation for the registration of new patients.
Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
Check the pigeon holes and dry wipe board daily for staff reminders and information from the Drs, Reception Manager and Business Manager.
Action requests for ambulance transportation and details entered in appropriate book.
Receive specimens from patients ensuring all their details have been recorded whilst following the practice Health and Safety policy.
Ensure premises are kept clean and tidy in between visits from the cleaning staff.
Open and distribute mail daily.
EMIS WEB essential
Watch for and report to the Reception Manager any matters affecting safety or security.
Process requests for repeat prescriptions in line with practice procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
Must have previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist ideally within a doctors surgery
Previous Reception experience is essential
Knowledge of EMIS WEB is essential
Friendly and Understanding of customer needs
Must be IT Literate
Able to prioritise workload and multi task
Strong customer service skills
DBS would be an advantage
