This fantastic opportunity has come available working for a forward thinking and flexible organisation within housing industry for an Income Officer. We are looking for an individual to provide a pro-active service to customers in relation to income management and tenancy payments. This is a rolling temp contract to cover a period of sickness with an immediate start mostly working from home.   



About The Role:

· As income officer you will be responsible for the monitoring and performance management of customer rent accounts

· Taking responsibility for referrals to advice and support services to maximise the income to the organisation

· Apply the Company arrears policy and process in a fair and consistent manner

· Monitor and use data to prioritise cases presenting the greatest business risk

· Discharge all legal and regulatory requirements on behalf of the company with regard to your caseload

· Liaise with Enforcement Officers, Tenancy Sustainment Officers and Neighbourhood Officers as appropriate to offer early support, combine enforcement actions and maximise company resources for visits to customers

· Income officers work closely with the appropriate Tenancy Sustainment Officers to ensure the sustainment of tenancies, ensure compliance with tenancy agreement and to protect demand and reduce costs

· Using a range of agreed communication methods to maintain effective contact with our customers

· Completing Income and Expenditure / Vulnerability Assessments to examine a customer’s ability to pay and make agreements in line with the arrear’s procedure

· Promoting payments in advance for current and new tenants

· Follow our arrears procedure promoting early intervention, the provision of targeted support and applying enforcement action on accounts

· Liaising with external agencies to maximise our income including Council Housing Benefits and the Department of Working Pensions

Essential Skills & Experience

· Previous experience in a similar role ideally income officer within housing or similar

· Debt collection and credit control experience would be considered

· Previous experience working across housing systems ideally QL, Orchid or similar

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to deal with difficult customer situations
